Hi there I was asked by a friend to be a model for the Afro Hair and Beauty Show 2011 held in Islington over the recent bank holiday. We were supporting one of two natural hair stands at the show courtesy of Ansylla from http://www.MyHairitage.com which provides holistic hair care. See here for her picture and her site.
Of course one cant be seen modelling without the appropriate clothing. Above is PJ from Distinctive Darlings who provided our afrocentric clothing. Sorry I was too busy to get any pics of me wearing one of her outfits.I attended with freshly washed unstyled locks and was given the wrap a lock treatment by Sistah Nandi who is the inventor of this product. see http://www.wrapaloc.com This is me with little make up. I had a great time meeting new people and stayed much later than I had planned and left very tired and hungry as there was no time to eat!
I don't usually wear a lot of make up as I have very sensitive skin and only wear one brand, Mary Kay. Enter Curtis make up artist for http://www.dorismichaelscosmetics.com and this was my final look.
I went to work yesterday and today feeling like a Queen and floating.
I got comments like "you have blue eyes", "your hair style really opens up your face", I have to keep staring at you", "that hair takes years off you", "please make sure you wear this style all the time because it really suits you".
I wish I could. My hair is sheduled to be re tightened on Saturday, 2 days left to wear my hair like this so unfortunately I will have to take them down.
Pics of this will follow.
Enjoy and keep the natural hair growing naturally.

Kittylocks, I absolutely LOVE the way Curtis did your makeup: not too much or too overdone; subtly enhancing what you already have. You look fabulous!
What a beauty!! A real African Queen
Thanks Ashanti and Bajan Lily you are right Curtis was very professional and quick and the results were amazing. No one knew I had any make up on at all!
Make-up=just the way I like it. Looks fab. Very interesting that wrap-a-loc. Tried to buy it off their website a while back, they'd sold out. Where can you get it here (UK)? Also kudos to the natural stands that were representing. I swore never to attend AH&B show after attending one that had very lttle by way of natural hair on offer.
Thanks Anthia ofo I could never re create this look myself. Re wrap a locs in the Uk they are not being sold here yet but I am collaborating with other women to arrange a natural hair show in November and wrap a locs will be on sale there More news on this to come. Thanks for looking
Well you look stunning my dear in the make up. ; o
